to fill the awkward silences
with words of little meaning,
Then there are those who wish
such words were left unspoken,
for the silence is so welcome.

Being an introvert and rather uncomfortable around people, I actually enjoy the silences we encounter. They only feel awkward to me when others try to fill them in with meaningless chatter.
