When every step is a mountain to climb,
when breathing is tiring,
when living hurts,

and the best that you can give
is simply to rise from your bed,

you are stronger than most.

There are days when I feel a tiredness so deep it is completely crushing.

I don’t write about Fibromyalgia much these days, mostly because I have accepted it and learnt how to live with it.

Although it affects me every day and I usually feel that I manage it pretty well, as in avoiding everything that triggers my symptoms – which is a very long list, and pacing myself, I still get flare-ups.

I try not to let it define who I am, which is one reason why I don’t write about it very often but I sometimes wonder if I should talk about it more, not because of what it has taken away from me but because of how I chose to live in spite of it. In some ways it has shown me just how strong I can be.

I’m feeling really exhausted today but I wrote this as a reminder to myself and others that strength is about what you can do, not what you can’t.

So, to all my fatigued and chronically ill friends out there, if you struggled to get out of bed today but you still did anyway, then just in case nobody has told you this recently: you are stronger than most ๐Ÿ’•

Even the strongest souls need a word of encouragement from a reassuring voice from time to time.
    Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚
